Luciana Paluzzi
Luciana Paluzzi is one of the many brunettes trained to be international superstars following the success of Gina Lollobrigida. In the 1950s, Ms. Paluzzi worked on both sides of the Atlantic in films such as Three Coins in the Fountain and Sea Fury. She was eventually offered the chance to be an American TV star in the character of Simone Genet in the 1959 spy-weekly Five Fingers. The year was 1965 when she saw the Bond producers to discuss the possibility of being considered as the lead actress Domino Derval's role in Thunderball. While that role eventually went to the former Miss France, Claudine Auger, director Terence Young offered her the part of the villain in Fiona Volpe - one of the few women on the planet who is able to withstand the lure of Mr. Fiona, as a punishment she is killed to the ground of the club by Bond's friends. James, who then lays her corpse at a nearby dining table, asks "Does it bother you if I take this role out?" "She's dead." Luciana's success as a European star was extended by this big-budget blockbuster. The actress was part of films like Captain Nemo and the Underwater City, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Klansman and The Greek Tycoon.
